Why did you choose to come to Penn State? As a senior in high school, I only applied to two schools, Penn State and Pitt. I visited them both, and I liked Pitt, but I loved Penn State! I'm from a very small town, and even though there are thousands of people at Penn State, I felt so much more at home there than I did at Pitt.

What has been your best memory as an engineering student? My favorite memory as a Penn State student was definitely WEPO. It made my transition into college so much easier and provided me with a wonderful group of friends that would be there for me throughout my first year of college and the rest of my years at Penn State!

What has been your best memory as a Penn State student? My best memory at Penn State was absolutely THON. My friends that don't go to Penn State would ask me about it afterwards, and I could never find the words to explain it to them. Words just can't capture the joy we bring to all of the kids during those 46 hours. I can't wait to get more involved with THON next year!

What advice would you give a first-year engineer? Don't be afraid to ask for help! Personally, I have major issues with asking for help when I need it. It took me a while to accept that it is okay, and that college isn't as easy for me as high school was, unfortunately. If I would have accepted this as soon as I got to college, rather than a couple of months later, It would have made my life so much easier! So don't be afraid to ask for help, it doesn't make you weak, or a bad person, or any less intelligent.

Give me one fun fact about yourself. My family owns a campground, Stony Fork Creek Campground, in Wellsboro, PA. My house is actually connected to the campground store/office, so I got to grow up on a campground! So if you're ever looking for somewhere to camp this summer, come visit!

Randi is a sophomore in Chemical Engineering.
