What Internship/Co-Op/Study Abroad or Research experience have you had?

I have interned twice with Exelon. The summer following my freshman year, I worked in the corporate side of nuclear power generation. This summer, I am working at a nuclear power plant in the Engineering Design department. Next year, I will be interning with the Naval Nuclear Laboratory.

Why did you choose to come to Penn State?

I chose to come to Penn State because I met so many fantastic engineers and students when I participated in events like the SWE Stayover. I also recognized the number of opportunities a large school can provide both academically and professionally. Most importantly, I got a strong sense of the Penn State community each time I visited University Park. I know that it is a characteristic of the school that will never fade and one that I will always cherish.

What is your best Penn State or engineering memory?

My favorite Penn State memory is from last December when my friends and I went to the winter celebration at the arboretum. After returning to their apartment, we exchanged Christmas gifts and spent the night relaxing and watching movies. It was great to take a break from finals prep, have some fun, and enjoy the holiday spirit :)

What did you wish you knew as a first-year engineer?

I wish I would've known how to reserve rooms on campus for studying. This is an awesome resource to have and can come in handy if you ever need to reserve a room for another reason.

What was your favorite class you took as a freshmen?

CAS 100A with Michael Alley

What is a fun fact about yourself?

I have been inside the closed unit of Three Mile Island and have also been to 5 other nuclear power plants.
