Why did you choose to come to Penn State? I didn't know what I wanted to do after college so I wanted to go to a big school with many different options and opportunities. I liked that the College of Engineering had a good reputation and that there were many different choices for study abroad and combining an engineering major with other majors and minors.
What has been your best memory as an engineering student? Going to the Society of Women Engineers National Conference in Baltimore in the fall of 2013! I got to meet hundreds of women engineers from around the country and hear about the impact they are making with their work.
What has been your best memory as a Penn State student? Traveling to Ghana with the club Global Public Health Brigades to build a latrine was a really amazing experience. I got to do something that I never would have guessed in my lifetime, let alone as a student at Penn State. I learned so much about myself and a very different culture - and met some awesome people, too!
What advice would you give a first-year engineer? Definitely take advantage of all the different opportunities available at University Park. This can mean something different for everyone, whether it is trying research for the first time, traveling to a new country or getting involved with a club. Each opportunity leads to many more and, in some cases, these are things you could only do while at college. Don't let them slip by!
Give me one fun fact about yourself. I love geography and I can name all of the countries in the world!
Molly is a junior studying Computer Science.
