Why did you choose to come to Penn State? Financially it worked out best for me and I also just loved the campus and the sense of community along with the pride that students and alumni expressed for the school.

What has been your best memory as an engineering student? My best memory as an engineering student has probably been participating in WEPO. It was such a fun couple days and really made my transition to college so much easier. It also provided me with such an amazing group of friends in the same or similar major as me. I still hang out with my WEPO group and mentors and they have really made a different in my journey to becoming an engineer.

What has been your best memory as a Penn State student? My best memory as a Penn State student has be participating in my first THON. I got involved in THON through SWE and loved every moment of it. From canning to the other various fundraisers, I got to know such an amazing group of women and shared an unbelievable experience with them. THON was one of the best weekend of my life. I have never danced, sang, or cried so much in 46 hours and I loved every minute of it.

What advice would you give a first-year engineer? When you get a C or even fail your first Chem 110 exam: You are not going to fail out of college. You can still become an engineer; in fact, you can still even get an A in the class. Take a deep breath. The world is not over. I promise.

Give me one fun fact about yourself. I just spent three weeks in Spain and it was the best three weeks of my life.

Megan is a sophomore studying Chemical Engineering.
