Why did you choose to come to Penn State? I grew up wanting to go to PSU. Since my first visit to the campus, I've felt a strong sense of family and pride whenever I set foot in University Park. Penn State is such a great engineering school, but there are tons of other ways to get involved like clubs and groups, THON, and football games. It's not the type of place that can ever bore you, and you're bound to meet all sorts of wonderful people there.

What has been your best memory as an engineering student? Watching my older sister graduate as a chemical engineer. Seeing her success at Penn State and hoping for my own is the scariest and greatest feeling. I'm so proud of her, and I hope to someday become as great an engineer as she is.

What has been your best memory as a Penn State student? Football games! Coming together with all your classmates to support the team is such an amazing experience. Shouting We Are! from the stands while the rest of your school responds with pride is like nothing else in the world.

What advice would you give a first-year engineer? Study a lot, but remember to spend time making friends! You'll remember your college friends your whole life, and the memories you'll make together will be amazing. And go to THON.

Give me one fun fact about yourself. I have double-jointed elbows.

Katie is a senior studying Industrial Engineering.
