What internships have you had: I interned with Kennametal, Irwin, PA (2014); currently interning with ArcelorMittal, Burns Harbor, Indiana I REALLY love my internship. I am working in a steel mill, but I am doing a lot of logistics and finding new ways to make their processes more efficient. It’s exactly what I want to be doing full-time, and I’m still surprised I’m enjoying this summer as much as I am. I wasn’t thinking I’d like Indiana as much as I am, but they have a great intern program with about 35ish interns in total so it’s really easy to make friends. So I’ve been able to stay busy.

 

Fun fact about yourself: I once read 24 books in 21 days because I wanted to. 1) they were books that I wanted to read not school books. 2) yes, I am a nerd. 3) my teacher’s would take my books off of me during class in this time period 4) I’m pretty sure I only slept like 2 hours a night for that entire 3 weeks 5) It was a series called “One for the Money."
 

What advice would you give to a first-year engineering student: Don’t give up. If you really want to be an engineer, no matter how hard you are struggling, do not give up. YOU CAN DO IT! Believe me I’ve been through some tough times, and I promise if this is something you really want, and really want to work at it you will be so successful.
