Why did you choose to come to Penn State? I came to Penn State because it really felt like home. I was also really impressed with all of the engineering programs and the networking opportunities I knew that I would get. The school pride of everyone on campus was also a great bonus!

What is your best Penn State or engineering memory? My best engineering memory would be all of the times I was able to talk to prospective students through Engineering Ambassadors. I get to talk about what I learn in computer science and about the great community we have in the College of Engineering. Helping students make the decision to come to Penn State is so rewarding and I love hearing how excited they are to come here.

What advice would you give a first-year engineer? My advice is that you are more than your GPA. There are some tough classes and it's hard at first when you're used to getting straight A's to get B's and C's. Definitely try your hardest in your classes but don't spend all of your time just studying. Your GPA is just a number, but what really makes you stand out is your leadership abilities and your passions. By getting involved in clubs/organizations you can show people more about who you are as a person and have a lot of fun doing it!

What is a fun fact about yourself? I have been a vegetarian for 13 years.

Kaitlyn is a senior studying Computer Science
