Gina Valerio is a sophomore in Mechanical Engineering, and wants to focus in robotics. This has been an interest from an early age, starting with Lego Mindstorm and the First Lego League, she’s enjoyed the challenges and rewards that come with these machines.

  Thus far in her life her most esteemed accomplishment was reading the first four books of Harry Potter seventeen times, (don’t worry she’s working on increasing her count on the last three which averages about five).  In addition to H.P. she’s read all of the Hunger Games (three times), and will recommend, Jodi Picoult (life questioning), Dan Brown (fact/fiction plot twists), or Nicholas Sparks novels (good summer lovin’). This summer she plans to tackle the Game of Thrones Series, and will provided a review upon completion.

She’s the bee knees, as a member of SWE, ASME, and Battle Bots as well as WEP, her coolest club has to be Swing Dance, and she enjoys being active and having fun. In addition to interacting with people on a nerdy level she also enjoys being active, and always up for a fitness class, or a run, but if you want a special place in her heart ask her to go swimming. She’s swam all through middle school and added water polo to her resume in high school, as well as teaching and coaching. She is also certified in Lifeguard Skills, First Aid, and CPR, (incase you ever need mouth to mouth ;). 

She’s a people person and will walk up and start a conversation with just about anyone, (and has), so feel free to tap her on the shoulder and gab away, be it at WEP, SWE, in the dorm or on campus.
