Why did you choose to come to Penn State? I wanted to go to a big school, outside of the city, and in state. Penn State fit everything I wanted in a school.
What is your best Penn State or engineering memory? My best memory was being selected as a semi-finalist in the Leonhard Center Speaking Contest. I've always hated public speaking, because no matter how prepared I am, my nervousness always shows. I went through CAS, just wanting to be done with all of the speeches. I kept improving and was selected to give my speech in the contest. I was so proud of how I did, especially because I used to be so nervous about speeches. Now I feel so much more confident about public speaking.
What advice would you give a first-year engineer? It's easy to take the easy way out, but in the long run it'll just hurt you. Your friends might give you their work to copy or you could look for solutions online. Either way, you won't be learning what you came here for and that'll show on your test grades. It'll take time to learn material in classes, but it's worth it in the end. You'll be smarter and have an accomplishment to be proud of.
What is a fun fact about yourself? I have a huge collection of key chains and pressed coins.
